Bookshop Description: (Est. 2013)

Regional Winner, Independent Bookshop of the Year British Book Awards 2018 We are Nottingham's only independent bookshop. Five Leaves Bookshop stock is orientated towards independent presses, but we have a good representation of major publishing houses too. We like the reprint house Persephone, the art publisher Redstone, political publishers including Verso and Freedom, poetry publishers such as Carcanet and Bloodaxe, translation houses including Pierene and Pushkin Press, the landscape publisher Little Toller… We have a large poetry section. Other sections in the shop include landscape/cityscape, music, general and translated fiction, travel writing, politics, LGBT, feminism, social history. We have a small children’s section. Five Leaves is a member of the Alliance of Radical Booksellers, The Booksellers Association and the Inpress group of independent publishers. We're a friendly bunch.

We are currently trading mail order only and are not planning to re-open to the public until 1st July at the earliest. We can supply books from stock or special order postfree to anywhere in the UK. We are not laying off any workers and will continue to pay staff at their contracted hours. Not least as we will have work to do! We will be servicing orders initially, but we are also looking at how we can put as much as possible of our stock online.
What you can do to help...

Send book orders to bookshop@fiveleaves.co.uk. We can supply any book in print. Books will be mailed out and payment can be made over the phone, by BACS, by PayPal or by a National Book Token. We can supply you direct or send to a friend with a message or card. Discounts are available to book groups. Watch out for when our catalogue starts going online. We wish you all well and we'll see you at the other end.

Paula Rawsthorne is a multi-award-winning author of young adult fiction. She has published four books: The Truth About Celia Frost (2011), Blood Tracks (2013), Shell (2018) and The New Boy (2019). She loves writing twisting, gripping, thought-provoking thrillers which, she hopes, get people reading and talking.

She is proud to be a writer in residence in a secondary school for the national literacy charity First Story, and she is also regularly invited into secondary schools around the UK to do author talks and workshops. A big fan of school librarians and the great work they do to get students reading, she is patron of the East Midlands School Library Association.

Paula was born and brought up in Liverpool and now lives in Nottingham with her husband and three children, who are all taller than her.
