Bookshop Description: (Est. 1981)

We are an established independent bookshop in Devizes, situated in a beautiful listed Georgian building. We are proud to have been chosen best independent shop in the Devizes Constituency for 2014. We carry a good range of new books, including titles of local interest, and boast a large children's book room. Our map selection includes both Michelin & Ordnance Survey and we have had our own "Devizes Walking Map" printed with Devizes at the centre. We are able to order any book not in stock, many delivered next day and also undertake "Out of Print" book searches. We are able to send books to any location in the world! Above the bookshop is an art gallery, with work by local artists, where we hold monthly literary evenings and occasional literary suppers. All of us at Devizes Books hope you are keeping well & we would just like to say a huge thank you for all the wonderful messages of support and for the orders which we are fulfilling, one way or another! If we can help with delivery of anything else (within reason) we are willing to help if at all possible! In case you are not aware there is a Devizes Covid-19 support group, amongst other things they do, they are able to facilitate picking up and delivery of prescriptions. Contact them on 01380 722160 Devizes Books are open again for browsing, just asking that customers adhere to our request that they should wear the gloves we provide. As before we are still able to take orders by phone, email, social media & notes shoved through the door, which can be sent directly to you by one our suppliers, or supplied from stock and delivered by post, or dog walker if local. Our stock obviously includes book tokens (ours & national), cds, vinyl, toys, cards, wrapping paper or anything in the gallery (subject to how on earth we get one of Colin’s paintings to you...) If you have had to self isolate or you feel unable to visit Devizes, and are in dire need of a good book, we urge you to take advantage of this service, books can be sent out by post and we will not be charging for the postage during this difficult period. We can payment by phone, including National Book Tokens, we will also accept cash or cheque, and our own Book Vouchers. If you have any concerns or queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
